Pre-K Valentines

This is the poster I made for J's Pre-K class. For Valentine's Day they invited their parents to "tea and poetry." Cupcakes accompanied the tea. After tea the girls recited a poem, then the boys, and then they all sang a song. The boy poem is printed on the poster. It was a cute performance.

Zoo

It was one of those amazing, spring-like days here in Portland, so the kids and I decided to go to the zoo. Every other family in the greater Portland area had the same idea. After standing in long lines and fighting the crowds, we were treated to seeing a peacock do a mating dance.

Here are a few more birthday shots. I'm going to post a few of the portraits on the hillcphotography blog, also found here. This afternoon we've been sitting at the dining room table getting Valentines ready for tomorrow and writing thank you notes. Is this what the days of homework will be like?

Deep Sea (Basement) Birthday Party

We had dental chair rides, tube monsters, car-eating lizards, and cake. I'm not sure how many activities had much of a "deep sea" theme, but J seemed pretty pleased with his 5th birthday.
