Hotdogs and Hammerheads: Halloween

Here are a few Halloween photos of H and J, aka Hotdog and Hammerhead. They had a really great time. Hotdog pulled that rolling suitcase all through the neighborhood to collect candy! Afterwards the adults ate chilli a la Dellwood Dr. There are many funny, cute pictures from the day. I'll post more tomorrow. Stay tuned. Big J says that Hotdog will hate me when she gets older. I wonder if I can use a glue gun to create something more mainstream, like a princess outfit.

Spiders and Pumpkins

Yesterday J came home with his first homework assignment. He could draw a spider, learn a fact about spiders or catch a spider and bring it to class. Guess which of the options J picked. This morning before school, J & J spider catchers went on assignment. Success! (The photo is an afternoon dramatization of the morning's work.) I told J's teacher, Mrs Knox, she was one brave educator. J was excited because his "spider got to be the class spider." We've had two days of amazing Fall weather, so we've been to the park. Today, I took their little pumpkins and staged some Fall photos. You can see more photos from the past two days at: www.flickr/photos/hillcphotography

Zoo Babies and Toddlers

We went to the zoo with the D family last weekend. There were lots of fun places to sit--the Eagle's Nest, the John Deere, and on the ledge in the ampitheater. We did NOT buy that Elephant Ear for Baby H. She stared down some guy until he gave her some of his. She is very resourceful when it comes to getting treats.

Kitchen Project: Next Phase

Here are the new cabinets. Things are coming together every day, so more pictures later.

Mud Puddles

The rainy season, all six months, has officially arrived. J shows H how to have fun in the rain, but she discovered the puddle all by herself. If only I could find some rain boat in her size...

Some September Photos

A dry Fall day in Oregon--Sept 22nd to be exact. H sports her new boots, runs away from brudder and enjoys being held by neighbor C. It's a hard day's work being a baby.

kitchen remodel

Before the remodel comes the demo. This is what the kitchen looks like before the dry wall, the painting, the cabinets, etc. This is the blank slate, uh well, the red, white, pink, plaster and lathe slate.

First Day of School

J wearing his uniform and getting ready for the first day of school. The first two are staged; I took them the day before...more time, pristine clothes. As you can see H wants to get in on the action too. She wants to do everything her big brudder does, even if it means hijacking his lunch box. The last picture is really taken the morning before school. You can tell it's more authentic because he already has a tell-tale yogurt smear on his shirt! I have more photos of the star, J, on his first day. Check out www.flickr/photos/hillcphotography

Cruise to Kyu's

The photos tell the story pretty well. To see more photos visit my flickr site. www.flickr/photos/hillcphotography

FIrst Otterpop

It was a right of passage moment. H enjoys her first Otterpop, blue tongue and all. Coming soon, another right of passage, J goes to Pre-K...

Learning to Ride a Bike...and Walk

As you can see from these photos, it's tough to learn to walk and to ride a bike; however, both of our kids are fearless (jumping curbs and climbing steps) and prone to accidents. When J learned to walk, he had that big scab on his forehead for months. H has a big scratch where her nose hit the concrete and a skinned knee. Neighbors J and C watch it all with amusement.

Pirate's Booty

Today, the cousins went on a treasure hunt for buried pirate treasure. They had a blast.
